Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646–1716), one of the greatest philosophers and mathematicians of the Enlightenment, introduced ideas that prefigure modern concepts of the multiverse as possible worlds.
- This is opposite of Descartes who said other worlds is not possible.
