Marriage is a practical social institution, not a religious one.
The goal of marriage is to raise children properly.
Therefore marriage policy has childcare as its end goal until the child is able to stand on his own and become capable for marriage himself.
Since marriage is dependent on the capability for childcare, then marriage is not a right, but a privelege.
The minimum marriageable age varies per country depending on the population situation.
The number of weddings is a matter which must be left to the discretion of the rulers. Their aim is to preserve the population size. They will have to consider the effects of wars, diseases, and any similar agencies, in order to prevent the State from becoming too large or too small. We shall have to invent some ingenious kind of lots which the less worthy may draw on to select their partner. This will make them accuse their own ill-luck and not the rulers.
The marriage of these persons are not desirable, those who:
- suffer from some physical or mental disease
- are not financially well off
- are constantly engaged in the fulfilment of an ideal Such people will not be able to fulfill their family commitments properly. The marriages of such people are harmful to the society in many cases.
