It is, in a certain way, an offshoot colony.

Mu, before its collapse, spread out?

People from this now-submerged continent and island network spread out, formed colonies, and intermingled with other populations.

So they could preserve the teachings and the cultures of Mu, because they were aware of the sinking that was taking place. It was a gradual process that involved earthquakes, that involved rising sea levels, and that involved volcanic activity. All of these things, over time, gradually submerged the island network and continent.

So as the locals of Mu became aware of this process, they knew they had to spread out. They knew they had to expand. So in that way, what you call the Polynesian Islands, in that sense, and the populations connected to them, they are in a certain way descendants of the people of Mu.

The same type of thing happened with Atlantis as well.

Many people who are more spiritually inclined recognized the collapse was coming, so they began to form colonies. They began to spread out. So many of the locations on your planet where you can observe pyramids, where you can observe what you call megalithic structures, monolithic structures, are locations that were in a sense founded by different Atlantean groups and different Atlantean colonists.
