Twin Flames, Their Missions, and Clarification of the Concept

Question: What are twin flames and their missions?

Bashar: Sometimes souls will make an agreement to meet each other in physical reality, but the idea of twin flame doesn’t always have to be a romantic notion. It can simply be the product of that agreement to meet in a certain way at a certain time to reflect to each other what each being in the relationship needs to know to become more of who they are. This is basically what all relationships are for. The idea of a twin flame is not truly, in a sense, a soul that has split itself, for every soul is an individual and it is that soul, it is that identity. But there can be those that vibrate, that harmonize in frequency so closely that they may seem to be different parts of the same being. Now, from a higher level this may be true. From the oversoul level and higher than that, you can have two distinct, shall we say, extensions or projections of an oversoul into two individual souls that do come from the same oversoul source. And you could say therefore that the oversoul may have split itself into different components and you could call that a twin flame or whatever it is you wish to label it as. But many of those concepts are a little bit outdated, outmoded, a little bit confusing in terms of the way you typically think of these things. So let’s just bring it down to the idea that the concept of twin flame is really about the agreement made between two consciousnesses, two souls, that have agreed to participate with each other in a way, be it romantic or not, that truly reflects to one another what each needs for support, for investigation of the self, for the growth of the self, for the realization of the self as fully as possible in this lifetime.
